War widow shares her story of survival in new book

Undefeated
Undefeated

On July 22, 1986, Wendy Taylor became a soldier’s wife. She wasn’t even twenty years old yet, and neither was he. For the next two decades, Wendy remained a soldier’s wife. Through basic training, deployments, and promotions, she was by his side–sometimes physically and sometimes emotionally. Being a soldier’s wife is not easy. Every time he left, she ached for him; but she never imagined the ache would become a permanent fixture in her life. On January 20, 2007, Wendy Taylor became a soldier’s widow–a part of the Gold Star Family, an exclusive family no one wants to be a part of. Her husband, Michael Taylor, was killed when his Blackhawk helicopter was shot down by the enemy.

This book is her journey of learning how to go on after that. It is an honest –sometimes heartbreaking, but always hopeful–story of survival in the wake of life-changing loss. It is her how to guide on how she remained Undefeated.

A beautiful story of love of God and the gift of family. Its difficult to imagine the grief endured by families who lose loved ones in war. My prayers are for all those who are experiencing grief and the hardships of war. Thank you for sharing your experience. I know it will help many.

Fantastic book!

I thoroughly enjoyed the book. While I have not lost someone due to war, it makes me appreciate even more the great sacrifices that these brave soldiers (and families) make to protect this country and our freedoms. Thank you, Michael Taylor and family!

Fox News Radio

Gold Star Wife Wendy Taylor joined Brian Kilmeade to discuss her new book titled “Undefeated: A War Widow’s Story of Faith and Survival” In the book Wendy vividly describes what life is like to be a war widow. Wendy lost her husband Michael when his Blackhawk helicopter was shot down in Iraq in 2007. The last time Wendy talked to Michael was on Skype “His eyes told me so much. I felt like he had so much to tell me but he just couldn’t at that time.” This book is her journey learning how to go on after that life-changing loss.
